Mission, Vision and Beliefs
Mission
The mission of Five Forks Middle School Counseling department is to help all students reach the highest level of achievement through delivery of a comprehensive counseling program that helps all students master challenging curricula, remove barriers to learning, and provides a safe and nurturing school environment. The school counseling department will work collaboratively with teachers, parents and community stakeholders to ensure all students are college and career ready. All students will have access to a school counseling program that will address student needs through academic, personal/social, and career counseling.
Vision
As a result of the Five Forks Middle School comprehensive counseling program, all students will achieve academic success and be prepared for a rich, limitless future, including postsecondary education, entering the workforce and becoming world-class citizens. Five Forks Middle School students will achieve their goals, become strong leaders and productive community members.
Beliefs
The School Counselors at Five Forks Middle School believe:

· All students have the right to a safe and supportive learning environment.
· All students will have access to a comprehensive counseling program that supports achievement.
· All students should have access to learning experiences that support their developmental needs.
· School counselors will use school-based data to address the needs of students and the effectiveness of the counseling program.
· School counselors will implement closing-the-gap activities for underserved populations.
· School counselors will implement interventions that focus on prevention initiatives.
· School counselors will advocate for every student.
· School counselors will be evaluated by a program audit, results data, and advisory council feedback.
· School counseling programs and services will be implemented through certified school counselors
· School counselors will participate in ongoing professional development and collaboration with stakeholders.
· School counselors will adhere to the counseling ethics and standards established by the American School Counselors Association.
